Ms. Beverly Bradley
Marine Advisory Program Coordinator, Emeritus
WHEREAS Ms. Beverly Bradley has served the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø with distinction in administration in several roles from 1985 to 2021; and
WHEREAS Ms. Bradley joined the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Cooperative Extension Service in Anchorage as an administrative assistant and then moved to the same role in the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program, where five years later she became the program coordinator and administrative manager and served in that position for 17 years; and
WHEREAS Ms. Bradley, working during significant personnel, programmatic and financial changes, managed multiple complicated budget projects and grants concurrently, supervised and trained staff, and provided communications and outreach for faculty, even while developing innovative internal systems to improve efficiency and helping to organize major annual conferences and events; and
WHEREAS Ms. Bradley consistently worked long and unusual hours to make good things happen on behalf of 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø and the people of Alaska, and she did so with optimism, empathy and warmth, spreading a contagious sense of fun through everything from birthday recognitions to retirement slideshow reflections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Beverly Bradley for her extensive contributions to the state of Alaska and to the university; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Ms. Bradley and as evidence of the university’s desire that her identification with the university be maintained, hereby confers upon Ms. Beverly Bradley the title of Marine Advisory Program coordinator, emeritus; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the chancellor as further evidence of the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø’ esteem and respect for Ms. Beverly Bradley, and conveyed to Ms. Bradley on this twenty-ninth day of April, 2022.
