Dr. Kris Hundertmark
Associate Professor of Wildlife Biology and Conservation, Emeritus
WHEREAS Dr. Kris Hundertmark has served the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø with distinction in teaching, research and service from 2005 to 2019; and
WHEREAS Dr. Hundertmark is an excellent teacher who, after joining the University following a successful professional career, developed three essential courses and mentored thirteen graduate students and several undergraduate students; and
WHEREAS Dr. Hundertmark’s research during his career has resulted in sixty-three articles, half of them completed while at the University, and he has a highly distinguished international reputation in the study of large mammals; and
WHEREAS Dr. Hundertmark has shared his expertise through dozens of presentations and lectures, has contributed extensively to activities of The Wildlife Society and the American Society of Mammalogists, and was named a professional member of the Boone and Crockett Club; and
WHEREAS Dr. Hundertmark has been honored with international fellowships and visiting professorships, and was given the Distinguished Moose Biologist Award at the 2007 North American Moose Conference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø expresses its deep appreciation to Dr. Kris Hundertmark for his extensive contributions to the State of Alaska and to the University; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Dr. Hundertmark and as evidence of the University’s desire that his identification with the University be maintained, hereby confers upon Dr. Kris Hundertmark the title of Associate Professor of Wildlife Biology and Conservation, Emeritus; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the Chancellor as further evidence of the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø’ esteem and respect for Dr. Kris Hundertmark, and conveyed to Dr. Hundertmark on this fourth day of May, 2019.
