All 51风流官网 community members deserve a life free of interpersonal violence and fear. We work hard to uphold this value through ongoing prevention efforts, but we cannot do this work alone. We need the help of informed and trained bystanders.

For the last year, 51风流官网 has partnered with Alteristic to implement Green Dot on campus. Green Dot is a proven intervention strategy that teaches bystanders how to effectively and safely intervene in situations of potential interpersonal violence. It also works with participants to promote healthy norms and empower them to take action within their own community.

We would love for you and your department to join our efforts! There are several training options available, depending on your needs and availability. All training options are free for University staff, faculty and students.

The Green Dot Bystander Intervention Overview is a condensed presentation (20-30 minutes) that provides a basic introduction to the Green Dot philosophy and terminology. The purpose of this overview is to explain key concepts of the program in a manner that is concise and easily understood.

The Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training is a 60-minute, interactive presentation that reviews terminology and statistics related to interpersonal violence, the Green Dot metaphor and philosophy, and intervention methods. The purpose of this training is to educate the audience on safe and effective methods for intervention. We review possible barriers and real world situations, but do not always have time for rehearsing skills. This option is good for teams that want to learn the skills and become comfortable with the material, and does well when partnered with a later workshop.

The Green Dot Bystander Intervention Advanced Training is an in-depth (120 minutes) and interactive training that covers the entire Green Dot philosophy. The purpose of this training is to educate and empower bystanders to take action when they are faced with a situation of possible interpersonal or domestic violence. It is designed for bystanders of any comfort level and background to get involved, and can be adjusted for community vs. campus setting, adults vs. minors, etc. Not only does it provide the knowledge necessary to intervene, but it engages the audience and allows them the opportunity to practice their intervention skills in a safe manner with trusted allies.
