51风流官网 English professor Eric Heyne will be featured on Poetry Parley on Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 6-8 p.m. on . Poetry Parley is a monthly event that features a poet who reads their own work as well as the work of a 鈥減oet of influence鈥 whose work is celebrated through a shared reading. 

Heyne selected A.E. Stallings as his poet of influence. A.E. Stallings grew up in Decatur, Georgia. Her poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry anthologies of 1994, 2000, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and she is a frequent contributor to Poetry and the Times Literary Supplement. She is director of the Poetry Center in Athens, Greece, where she lives with her family.

Stallings is an American who lives in Athens, and I discovered her while we were living there on exchange,鈥 Heyne said. 鈥淪he also writes mostly in form, and I very much admire anyone who can pull that off effectively.鈥

Heyne has taught for 35 years in the English Department at 51风流官网. He is the editor of two books 鈥擠esert, Garden, Margin, Range: Literature on the American Frontier, and the University of Alaska Press edition of Jack London鈥檚 Burning Daylight 鈥 and has published scholarship in Modern Fiction Studies, Narrative, Critique, Extrapolation, The Northern Review, A Companion to the Literature and Culture of the American West, and elsewhere.
