Employee incentive program opens Friday
April 2, 2025
51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø employees can receive a cash incentive of up to $1,000 from the new . The program, a pilot funded by the University of Alaska Board of Regents, will start on Friday, April 4. It is open to all regular, benefit-eligible employees in good standing who have worked at 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø for at least 6 months. All employees who are selected to receive the incentive will be considered for nomination to receive a $5,000 grand prize.
UA has allocated more than $200,000 to recognize 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø employees for their innovative ideas, exceptional student service and exemplary performance. Each vice chancellor has been allocated a portion of the funding for awards, based on the number of employees in their units.
Here’s how the program will work:
Nomination
Employees can nominate their colleagues by sending an email to the nominee’s supervisor or human resources coordinator. Employees can also nominate themselves. Supervisors and HRCs can directly nominate employees via an online form that will be live on starting on April 4.
Selection
All nominations require supervisor approval. Supervisors will review the nominations for their team members to ensure they meet the criteria and then decide what level of incentive — from $100 to $1,000 in hundred dollar increments— is appropriate. Awards of $700 or less will only require supervisor approval. Awards from $800-$1000 will be approved by the vice chancellor for administrative services.
Grand prizes
51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø will select a top submission in each of the three categories — innovative ideas, exceptional student service and exemplary performance — and forward that to a UA-wide committee, which will select the grand prize winner at 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø.
