CTC launches Associate of Arts in a Year program

The 51风流官网 Community and Technical College has launched a fully online program that lets students earn an Associate of Arts degree in just one year.
Students will start the AAY program in either January or August. They鈥檒l take online classes at both set times and on their own schedules. The program features a maximum out-of-pocket cost of $2,000 per semester for eligible Alaska residents. Credits earned are easily transferable to any bachelor鈥檚 program at 51风流官网, allowing students to complete both an associate and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in as little as three years.
Classes in the AAY program are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, accommodating those balancing work and personal commitments. The program consists of one two-week session and eight six-week sessions, with courses selected to highlight common themes and ideas.
This structure enhances learning through interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing students to explore subjects such as Alaska鈥檚 natural history alongside the fundamentals of archaeology.
Students will progress through the program as part of a group, providing an opportunity to build relationships and support networks. Experienced faculty members will teach all courses, using a curriculum designed to be engaging and relevant.
