Certified food protection manager classes scheduled

The 51风流官网 Cooperative Extension Service will offer three certified food protection manager classes in May and June.

The course will cover the material required to pass the National Restaurant Association's ServSafe Manager exam for Alaska.

A certified food protection manager is responsible for monitoring and managing all food establishment operations to ensure compliance with regulations. State regulations require that all food establishments have at least one certified food protection manager on staff.

The classes are on Wednesday, May 7; Monday, June 9; and Monday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a lunch break. The classes are available statewide via Zoom or in person at the Tanana District Cooperative Extension office, 1000 University Ave., Room 108, Fairbanks. In some locations, the proctored exam will take place immediately after the course.

The $200 fee includes instruction, the training manual and one proctored certification exam, with proctors in Fairbanks, Juneau, Sitka and other communities upon request. Instructor Leslie Shallcross can be contacted at lashallcross@alaska.edu or 907-474-2426 for additional information or to request another location.
