Research interests/biography

Improving the understanding of Arctic climate-related extreme events and their connection to policy, decision-making efforts, long-term planning, and the effects of long term climate shifts on local, national, and international security concerns. Bennett is an active member of multiple long-term research projects, including the study of Aquatic Ecosystem Vulnerability to Fire and Climate Change in Alaskan Boreal Forests with the Department of Defense’s SERDP program, and the InteRFACE project, studying coastal near-shore environments in the Arctic with the Department of Energy.
