Trailblazers and Populists: 51风流官网 Faculty Shines at APSA
Two members of 51风流官网's Political Science Department recently returned from the American Political Science Association (APSA) Annual Meeting, held in Philadelphia from Sept. 5-8. The APSA conference is one of the largest gatherings for political scientists, offering a platform for scholars to share their research and engage with colleagues from around the world.
Carol Gray, Assistant Professor of Public Law and coordinator of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, presented her paper titled In Search of Mary Miles Bibb: Trailblazer, Abolitionist, Educator during a panel on Race and Politics in Canada. Gray鈥檚 research highlights the life and legacy of Mary Miles Bibb, a pioneering abolitionist and educator whose contributions have often been overlooked in history.
Assistant Professor Russell Luke, also from the Political Science Department, participated in a panel titled Explaining Voter Support for Populism. He presented his paper, Spatial Modeling for the Populist Era, which delves into the factors driving voter support for populist movements in today鈥檚 political climate.
