Tips for your group's visit

  • Pack your sneakers 鈥 It鈥檚 a good idea to wear comfortable footwear for walking. We鈥檒l be showing your group all the best-known-secret-places on campus, and that means a lot of exploring.
  • 24 hour sun 鈥 In the summer, we celebrate the midnight sun! If your group is traveling from 鈥渢he lower 48鈥 or outside Alaska, sleep masks might be helpful to get enough rest.
  • Dress for the weather 鈥 Fairbanks winters get very cold, often below 0掳F. Please bundle up to protect yourself from the elements. Alaskans will tell you, the secret is to wear layers.
  • Give your group extra time 鈥 It can be difficult to travel in the wintertime, especially if you鈥檙e coordinating multiple cars. Give your group plenty of time to get to your destinations.
  • Parking on campus 鈥 When we confirm the details of your group鈥檚 visit, we鈥檒l chat with you about how you鈥檙e arriving and what the best options for parking will be for your group. Coach and school bus loading areas and parking are available.
